Since Tom was off to work today and LB was spending most of it with G, I had some big plans for what I wanted to get done. In the morning, I wanted to go for a run, do a load of laundry, and make some soup for dinner. After that, I wanted to clean LB's room, including going through her toys to decide what she still played with and what could be stored or sent to Goodwill. I figured I'd have all of the above items done by 11 AM so that I could still have several hours to work on my syllabus for Winter Quarter and my job applications before LB returned.
But as usual, I greatly underestimated how long everything would take, and I did not finish cleaning LB's room until 2 PM. I also had to make an unexpected run to the store when I realized I had forgotten to buy the stock for the soup. So I didn't get any time to work on school-related stuff before LB was "woohooing" at the front door. But it was a delicious soup and LB's room is clean (although still full of toys). And my mom stayed for about an hour and a half to play with LB while I sent out some work emails and started my syllabus. I wish I had gotten more done, but it is what it is. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the work I need / want to finish before classes start again next Monday. As always, I'll just keep "chuggin'" along as Tom says, doing the best I can to get what I can done. *Big sigh*

G left this afternoon around 4, and as soon as she was out the door, LB found her sweater and asked me to put it on. When I was done, she grabbed her Spiny and "bink" and went to the door, patiently waiting for me to open it. Apparently, she wanted to go "bye-bye" with G. But instead, I said we could play with her new sidewalk chalk. Although not as fun as a trip to G's house, the chalk did keep her entertained till Papa came home.
