Day 313: Saturday Morning Clean Up

We started our weekend off as we often do: with a big clean up. I was sorting laundry in my and Tom's bedroom when LB came into help. Usually, her idea of helping is to pick up a piece of dirty laundry and try to wear it. Usually, her idea of wearing laundry is putting it on her head and walking around with it on. A bit disgusting. I used to try and get the laundry away from her, but then I realized that LB spends most of her day getting dirty. Why try to fight it? As I'm sure all the mamas and papas out there know, you really do have to pick your battles.

Today, however, her idea of helping was to carry armloads of clothes from our bedroom to hers. She was so adamant about carrying the clothes that I finally gave up trying to sort and went to sit on the couch with Tom where we watched her walking back and forth through the hallway with her clothes. When she was done bringing all the clothes, she pushed both the hampers (both of which are taller than her) into her room. Then she was done. Tom and I cracked up watching her. She's such a serious, focused little thing. Don't interrupt her work.

We also had a visit from G today. Here she is reading LB her bedtime story. This has to be one of my new favorite photos.
I also asked LB to give me a smile this evening, and these were the two looks I got:
