Day 228: Grandma and Grandpa's House!!

I have plenty of pictures today, all provided by G who has been recording LB's first weekend visit at the Lovejoy Homestead. I'm sure there will be many, many more visits. I loved going to Grandma and Grandpa's house when I was kid. Grandma Mary would make this little bed out of boxes and books and couch cushions. She'd put it right next her side of the bed at night. I felt so safe and happy nestled down under all the blankets that smelled wonderfully of Grandma and Grandpa. Usually, only one or two of us six kids would get to stay over at a time. I loved escaping all the chaos of the Lovejoy house for the peace and quiet of Grandma and Grandpa's. Also, a visit always meant there would be a trip to the second-hand shop or to the swamp meet where Grandpa would let me dig through the boxes and bins of miscellaneous toys and pick out whatever I wanted. Nope, you can't beat a visit to Grandma and Grandpa's house.

In the top photo, we have LB admiring all the different and novel toys. And below . . . looking sweet in her overalls.
Exploring the yard. Kim, Donald's girlfriend, drew that cute little sidewalk sign; it says, "Welcome Lilybeth."
Oooohhh . . . who gets to sit in that little blue chair?
Victorville is a little different from Riverside, hey LB?
Grandma and Grandpa met up with Grandma's co-workers at the local pizza parlor for lunch. G was very excited to show the little blondie off.
Mmmm . . . pizza.
Escaping a cuddle from Maria . . .
And of course no visit to the Lovejoy's would be complete without . . . rabbits!!
That's right, LB. Pet them gently!
Don't get any wild ideas, LB. You aren't bringing one of those home.
