Day 220: There's No Place Like Home

LB had a good day at daycare. When I arrived to pick her up, Chrissy was thrilled to tell me that they had several smiles out of the miss today, and they even got her laughing. I guess since they had to work so hard for it, it made it all the more precious.

When we arrived back at our place, I was digging through my purse for the keys, and LB was clearly anxious to get inside. She kept pointing at the door and nudging against me to hurry me up. Needless to say, seeing her so excited to be home made me very happy. And as she usually does when she gets home, she immediately started signing for something to eat. Even if she had been eating a snack at daycare when I picked her up, she still wants a snack as soon as she gets home. She's like a little teenager. I guess a girl works up an appetite after a day of eating, sleeping, and playing! Today she ate every last little lick of a yogurt cup.

And once it cooled down outside, we went out to work in the garden. When LB saw me getting her shovel and rake and heading outside, the look on her face was pure joy. Soon enough she was happily sitting in the mud, examining plants, and helping me to put some herb seeds into these little pots. They just make our garden look so much cuter!
And our lemon tree has two little lemons! Go us! We haven't actually killed off any plants yet!
When she was done working in the garden, LB cleaned off her tools. Such a good little worker.
It's nearly 9:30 now, and, since I'm trying to make a better effort of getting to bed early--so that I can get up early and write--I guess I better be closing this up.
