Day Eighty-Three: Out of Bed, Sleepy Head

Miss Lilybeth had a little sleep in this morning until the very late hour of 6:30 AM. Here she is in her bed, waiting for us to pick her up. And I think she's still waking up here . . .

Tom and I were up before the crack of dawn, however. Tom woke up at 4 to watch a British soccer game, and I got up at 5:30 to work on the diss. It's been a productive week of dissertation writing, and today was no exception. I think part of this feeling of productivity is that I have been setting smaller or more practical goals for myself everyday. So instead of ambitiously thinking I will edit a section and write so many pages in one day (and then being disappointed at the end of the day when it isn't done), I've been seriously thinking about what I can finish on any given day and getting that done. It feels good to actually have completed a task, no matter how small, when I crawl into bed at night.

And I have to include this one last pic because it's so sweet. LB bumped her dear little head while she was trying to scoot around in the bath. She was very upset about it, so she had a little cuddle with Papa. Here she is telling him about the injustice of it all.
