I woke up this morning feeling sluggish, achy, and overall just gross, so Tom took most of the day off, not going into work until the evening shift. He took care of LB, and I mostly sat in the office, poking at my poor dissertation and sipping coffee (probably not the best combo for a cold, but I did finish editing my section for the day). I emerged at about 12:30 because I thought I should probably eat something. Absolutely nothing looked appealing, so I cut up the honey dew and the cantaloupe and had a little bowl of that. Here I am putting on a brave face for the camera. After Tom left, LB and I went down to the park, where I wanted nothing more than to take a little afternoon snooze in the warm sun. But the young lady, who had just woken up from a three hour nap, was ready for a play. So I made her this clover chain for her new hat, which I think is by far her cutest hat now, and I also made her some mini-chains to break. I used to be quite the skilled little clover-chain maker when I was in Mrs. Suhr's 2nd grade class back in Fontana, CA, and I was glad to see that I hadn't lost my talent after so many years out of practice. The other thing I liked to do in the 2nd grade was play the ball game Four Square. Sadly, I cannot even remember the rules of the game.
