Today we had a nice surprise: a visit from Grandpa. Lilybeth has still not warmed up completely to my dad, and usually she won't even let him hold her when he visits. I'm sure when she gets bigger though, she'll be very happy to be carried around by Grandpa so that she can be "up high."
Today she had a big fuss when he arrived but calmed down enough for him to feed her lunch (which involved a lot of bribing with puffers). He showed her this flower during lunch, and she had a lot to say about it. She's such a talkative little thing now. After lunch we walked down to the park, and he actually got a couple of smiles out of her.
The young lady also had her first pasta today, which I think she enjoyed. I found the recipe for the sauce in a baby food cookbook from my mom: carrots, onions, corn, tomatoes, parsley, and a bay leaf. Very simple and yummy. Cooking for LB is a nice and necessary break from the dissertation.
