The lovely young lady above is Monica Frog, the newest member of Lilybeth's entourage. I found her in DC, but she was handmade in Kenya. I love her knobby eyes and poor little arthritic hands. LB has mostly been ignoring her. Right now, she likes to play with things that make noise when you hit them against something else (so she's really into spoons. I even gave her a spoon to play with in the bath) and paper. Today, Tom worked another eleven hour day, and LB and I got back into her usual weekday routine:
5 AM Wakes up and breastfeeds
6:30 AM Eats breakfast. LB usually has oatmeal with prunes and/or a banana and a teething biscuit. She likes to have a big breakfast. After breakfast she usually plays, both quietly in her play area and with Papa before he goes to work. I usually try to get a little work in before Tom leaves.
9 AM Has her bath
10 AM - 12:30 PM Breastfeeds again and has her daily nap. I work on my diss.
1 PM Has lunch. Today she had leftovers: a leftover spinach & veggie puree that I made and then the rest of a jar of split pea soup.
2 PM - 3 PM Goes for a walk and visits the playground.
3 PM Breastfeeds
3:30 - 4:30 PM Reads books and plays in her play area. Today, because it was sunny this afternoon, we played "catch" outside. I also tried to "rest my eyes" while LB tried to "style" my hair. Needless to say, I got little resting done.
4:30 PM Eats dinner. Tonight she had a yogurt and sweet potato puree that I made and some banana slices.
5 PM Has another bath.
6 PM Breastfeeds and goes to bed, and I work on my diss, post here, make dinner with Tom, and relax.
Today, I also tried to capture her two little teeth. They're so damn cute, but I just haven't been able to get a picture of them. She always closes her mouth at the crucial moment! After I took several unsuccessful teeth pictures, I showed the pictures to LB on the camera. She thought they were so funny, especially the one below! She loves to see babies!
