I spent Friday at the conference, which meant I was on the GWU campus most of the day, though I did have to make several trips back to the hotel to pump. The hotel was about a 10- minute walk from the campus, so I definitely got a workout and didn't end up sitting around for two days listening to lectures and panels and eating, which is what usually happens at these conferences.
I stayed at the Melrose Hotel on Pennsylvania Ave. (the same street as the big house itself!):
I liked DC well enough as a city, though, not surprisingly, there were a lot of people in suits around, which gave it a very conservative vibe. I will say that I liked the crazy hodge-podge of architecture around the city. There were tons of old buildings pushed right up with very modern structures:
And meanwhile, back in California, Uncle Daniel and Grandpa came for a visit and a walk. LB's Great Auntie Dawn sent her the yellow t-shirt:
