Day 121 (Wednesday, 5/26): Yarra River and Moonee Ponds

For our last day in Melbourne, the sun decided to show its bright self, and so the Lovejoy-Fordham Alliance walked down to Yarra River where there were some gorgeous views of the city center or the CBD (central business district) as the Aussies like to say.
In the afternoon, we rode the train out to the suburb of Moonee Ponds (fabulous name) to meet up with Karl whom Tom and I worked with in Japan. It had been seven years since we last saw him (since it was seven years ago that Tom and I left Japan). He seemed the same as we remember him, except now he has a wife and an adorable two-week-old baby boy, Noa. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of him or the baby, so instead here's a picture of a carousal along the Yarra River. I love how it has a picture of Uluru at the top.
