So today I headed north for my interview at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, WA (see port above. That's Canada on the other side of the water.) I'm holed up in my hotel room, reviewing some answers for possible questions tomorrow but mostly I'm just waiting to head to bed. It's awfully lonely in this hotel room, and I keep thinking of my wonderful Tom and my little possum LB. I left LB at GG's house, where I'm sure she got up to all sorts of troubles this afternoon with her grandma, great grandma, and two pups.

The drive from Centralia to Port Angeles took about 3 hours. It was scenic and gorgeous and green all the way up the 101 (which was mostly a one-lane highway).

My zippy blue rental car.

A typical scene on the drive up.

And the verdict . . . I like Port Angeles. It's very tiny, and everything closes up early on a Sunday evening / afternoon. Okay, from the posted hours, it looks like everything always closes early, but I can still see the Lovejoy-Fordham Alliance settling down in one of the cute little houses near the school, having a little fire to keep us all cozy in the winter, and enjoying the big park down the street on the warmer days. It has one main road, but it still has three Thai restaurants, a pho place, a Mexican restaurant, and lots of seafood joints. So we'd have plenty of good foodies to eat. And, we can pick up the radio stations (in English and in French) being broadcasted over in Canada.
After I checked into my hotel, I drove over to Peninsula College (my interview is at 8, so I don't want to be driving around tomorrow morning, looking for the school.) It looks like a nice enough school, with some beautiful views . . .
