Today was my mock interview with the job placement committee at UCR, and overall, it went great! I did my mock interview with two UCR profs and two community college profs. They rated my answers to their questions on a scale of 1 - 5 (1 being excellent and 5 being poor), and I received all 1's and 2's on my responses! Afterward, I did my mock teaching demonstration. About twelve of my fellow grad students attended, plus the four profs. They loved my lesson on analytical writing (and a few people even said they were going to steal it from me.) I'm glad the lesson went so well, and I've got to send a thanks out to my friend Sheila, who listened to my plans and helped me talk through them, and to Tom, who--after working an 11-hour day--sat through the lesson twice last night, pretended to be a student, and gave me some good advice. Thanks you two! Let's hope my interview in Arizona this coming Thursday goes just as well.Lilybeth also had a great day. She had an extra day at daycare because of my interview. Friday is a slow day around Pam's, and with only three kids today, they ordered a pizza and had a little picnic pizza party. Lucky kids. And when G picked her up from daycare, they went and had a little "shop-shop" (as LB says) at Kohl's. Here's LB opening up her bag of goodies: TWO new stuffed animals (G said LB couldn't decide between them and so she got both. Oh, G!), some more sippy cups (which, actually, I'm thankful for as I wanted to get her some new ones anyway), some more bath toys, and a new pair of pants (always needed, but still, G! This grandbaby is really getting spoiled!)
looking spunky Helen!
