Better Tomorrow

The Lovejoy-Fordham Alliance and G were up at 4:30 AM with a sick LB, so we heard about the earthquake in Japan very early. Tom and I are very sad to learn something so devastating has happened to one of our favorite places on earth, but we were glad to learn that all of our friends in Tokyo are safe. Hopefully everyone is out of harm's way now and hopefully the country's recovery will be speedy.

As for LB, her fever went up and down, and she was generally exhausted and cranky most of the day (as is seen in the first photo, where she's watching The Wiggles and sucking on a cold washcloth to cool down). She did have a couple little stints at playing, like when she gave her stuffed bear a ride on the rocking horse. Note the boots.
We're all hoping she's feeling better tomorrow in part because tomorrow is the annual dog show in Victorville. G and LB have been talking about this dog show for weeks. Usually, the conversations go something like this: G will describe what kinds of dogs LB might see at the show--big dogs, little dogs, fat dogs, skinny dogs, furry dogs, hairless dogs--and LB will excitedly yell out "Pup! Pup!" Or G will describe some kind of potential scenario at the show, like "If a big dog barks at you, don't be scared because Grandpa will pick you up high." And LB will look concerned for a few seconds before excitedly yelling out "Pup! Pup!" Hopefully the wee thing is on the mend tomorrow so that she won't miss out on all those pups! pups!
