As my darling husband knows, I do like a good V Day celebration. Of course I realize that it is a completely commercialized holiday, which, according to urban legend, was invented by greeting card companies. But I still like it. I sometimes think that if I were going to invent a holiday, it would be a day like Valentine's Day, a day to celebrate love. Yes, I am that cheesy. So cheesy I could probably write a bad Hollywood romance movie.
On our first Valentine's Day together, I wrote Tom a poem and I made him a very decadent cheesecake involving Tim Tams and M & M's. I continued in that sweet tradition today by making him chocolate chip pancakes with whip cream and strawberries for breakfast. We had mimosas to wash them down. It's funny that I'm only on the 21st day of this blog, but I've already made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast twice. We really don't have them that often. Honestly. I also made my dearest little possum her favorite food: apple and carrot puree. When she went on her walk with Papa this afternoon, she picked a red poppy for me.
And as for Lilybeth, she has been making good progress with her finger foods. At G's suggestion, I've been giving her little round puffs, and she's had no trouble eating them and is very slowly managing to get them to her mouth. When I'm watching her trying to eat them, I swear my heart breaks a little when she gets one nearly in, has her little pink tongue out all ready to receive it, and then . . . drops it at the last second.
