Day Eleven: The Sweet Life

Yes, I wrote another page today! And I wasn't expecting to because I had a meeting this afternoon, a meeting about how to format your dissertation for filing. Even though I won't be finishing my diss until December, I decided to attend the meeting early to see if there is anything I can be doing now to prepare for filing and also just for a bit of inspiration. Talking about what it will be like when the diss is done gave me a nice, fuzzy, warm feeling. There will be an end!!

And for today's pictures we have LB checking out some Thin Mints brought by G (don't worry, she didn't actually eat one) and a close-up of a jam tart that Nicole, a German grad student who is staying next door to us, brought over. It's wonderful to get presents of sweets, especially since Tom and I have decided not to purchase any more dessert-y products ourselves. We just really can't control ourselves around them. Okay, I should clarify: I really can't control myself around them. And the last thing that LB needs to see at this tender and impressionable age is her mother downing a box of macadamia nut chocolate chip cookies in one sitting.
