As you can guess from Tom's jersey, he enjoyed watching the Super Bowl today. It was a great game--good to see the underdogs win--and Tom's favorite player, Drew Brees, was picked MVP.
We cooked up a pot of chili and a pan of cornbread and had some people over: Crystal and Franceil and their little Jake, Matt and his little Sakura, and Nicole, Sebastian, and their daughter, Leni. LB loved having all the kids over to play. She watched the older girls run around, and I could tell she was anxious to chase after them! And, as you can see from the photos below, the play area was a big hit with kiddies and mamas alike. I loved the chaos of having so many kids around--it made for a very loud and energetic viewing of the game. It was funny watching the little girls cheer at a touchdown. LB got all wide-eyed watching everyone clap and jump up and down, but poor wee Jake was frightened by all the celebrations and started to cry.
I don't think I've ever watched a Super Bowl game before, but everyone's excitement for the Saints was contagious. I never realized it was such a big deal, but apparently even Disneyland closed early because of the game!
