It has been a long 24-hours here. Both Lilybeth and Tom have been congested because of allergies (it was very windy yesterday). It seems LB has inherited her father's sinuses. Needless to say, she didn't sleep very well last night. She didn't go to bed until 7:30 and woke up at 11 and again at 2. She had a miserable time nursing because of being so blocked-up, and I felt quite helpless when she kept coming off and fussing because she was so uncomfortable. I ended up letting her sleep in her car seat so she'd be sitting up. Obviously, it didn't help much since she still woke up.
Plus, the whole family had to be up early because Tom went into work at 8 to do some overtime. He worked an eleven-hour shift. It was a long day for both of us, and in order to break mine up a little, LB and I went on a huge, two-hour walk that included a stop at Starbucks, a tour past the local school (where, much to LB's delight, the kids were on the playground for recess), and a long session at the park (though, unfortunately, none of her friends were there). We found this pine cone along the way, and LB was completely taken with it. She chatted with it the whole way home. I absolutely love all the silly little things she does. They brighten up even the most exhausting day.
