Day 145: Here Comes the Sweetness

I had a wonderful Saturday. In the morning and again in the afternoon, I worked on Monday's lesson plan, and in the middle of the day, LB and I went to the mall for her Gymboree class. I decided to take her a different day this week, a day she didn't have swim class, since I figured one activity a day is plenty for someone who hasn't quite learned to walk and talk.

While we were at the mall, we also got Papa a Father's Day present and finally bought LB's b-day present from Nannie Annie and Grandpa Teddie: a cool bike like cousin Sophie's (Thank You!!)

During our shopping, I started to feel a bit peckish, so we stopped at the Hot Dog on a Stick stand and had one of my favorite naughty mall treats, a cheese on a stick. For those of you who don't know, a cheese on a stick is just like a corn dog but with cheese: it's basically a slender block of cheese dipped in cornmeal and deep fried so that it's crispy brown on the outside and warm and gooey on the inside. So yummy. Since LB is such a little cheese fiend, she gobbled down nearly the entire thing (which I kept giving her little pieces of). Since she ate most of it, I contemplated buying myself another one but decided one cheese on a stick was enough for one mall trip.
And today, Tom and I also got back into the running. We've decided we'll have a family jog every evening after Tom is off work and right before LB goes to bed. We put LB in her jogger and went once around the block and once around the park and then stopped at the playground for LB. Obviously, we're have to build up to longer runs.
