Today Lilybeth had her 12-month well baby checkup at Kaiser. This visit included six shots, which will be her biggest set ever. She was none too happy about this, but she was a very brave little girl and only fussed a little when it was all done. She even managed to give the nurse a half-hearted smile as we were leaving. Overall, she is in excellent health. She's in the 75th percentile for her height, so Dr. Roopa said she is a tall girl. I didn't catch the percentile for her weight, but Dr. Roopa said it is just right. She also explained that a child's weight at one year is a good indicator of whether or not they will suffer from childhood obesity, and LB is definitely not in any danger. In fact, LB is so healthy, Dr. Roopa said she doesn't need to come in for a checkup at 15 months (when most babies have their next well baby appointment at Kaiser); instead, she can wait until 18 months. Go Lilybeth!! And go everyone who takes such good care of her!
