Day 136: Fussin'

So Tom and I had been very pleased with what a great eater LB is. Typically she'll gobble down a huge bowl of food, and I once saw the little thing eat a banana and a half. But in the last week, since we got back from Australia and since the move, she's been such a fussy eater. At breakfast one morning, she even refused the banana. Maybe the two big events have put her out of sorts? At any rate, lunch today was particularly fun for me, as you can probably tell from the photo above where she is simultaneously shaking her head "no" and throwing a piece of potato. She was having a mash of potato, tuna, cheese, and broccoli, a dish idea I got from my sister-in-law, Em. While she ate it up yesterday, today it was a no-go. She was even picking bits of broccoli and tuna out of her mouth and throwing them on the floor and below she's putting a piece of potato she doesn't want on the table.
The meal involved plenty of sad blubbering . . .
And lots of dirty looks at Mama . . .
For dinner, she had pieces of turkey meatballs and spaghetti, both of which she enjoyed on previous days, but again, she had no interest in either of them. A couple of times, I saw her slurp a strand of spaghetti into her mouth, then pull it back out and throw it on the floor. But don't worry all you grandmas, grandpas, and aunties out there, she did not go hungry. As soon as she saw me sitting down to relax and enjoy a piece of toast with avocado, she came crawling over as fast as her little arms and legs would bring her to help me eat it. So maybe we need to pretend that her food is really our food?

But she definitely made up for all the exhaustion of trying to feed her by being so damn adorable. Here she is at the front door this evening watching people walk by and, I think, waiting for Papa to come home and play with her. Also, I think she tried to say "up" today in the bath. We were playing with the bath cups, each of us holding one, and we were lifting them up and down while I said "up" and "down." Towards the end of the game, I would say "up" and then she would say "uhh" and we would lift our cups high.
Also, I forgot to record yesterday that she now weighs 20 lb and 8 oz and that she is 30 in long.
