Here are a few pictures of today's festivities:
Putting on her own party hat; such a big girl!
Opening presents.
LB's little cupcake, made by yours truly. It was just a recipe from a baby cookbook: flour, a touch of honey, an egg, raisins, mashed bananas, butter, and milk. It wasn't very sweet; it actually tasted like a banana scone. I added some cream cheese frosting to the tops of some to sweeten them up for the adults and served some vanilla ice cream. LB wasn't too interested in hers. I was so worried about her having a sweet tooth, but, for the moment, she seems uninterested in sugar. She didn't really eat her Aussie b-day cake either. This is good; the longer she's disinterested in the sweet stuff, the better!
And here's Franceil playing us some lovely music.
And there were plenty of friends in attendance, including Jocelyn, LB's little playground buddy, who brought along her mommy, Grace.
Sakura, all decked out in a party hat, who came with parents Matt and Tomoko.
And of course, Jakey, who came with his mamas Crystal and Franceil. I got plenty of cuddles with my favorite little man.
Also in attendance, but not pictured, were Grandma (of course!); Leona and Will, who used to live nearby; our good friends Melinda and Konrad; Erla, who made LB her pink blanket, which is a bedtime must around here; and my friend and colleague, Debbie.
