Flying from Australia to LA, we actually went back in time. We left on Wednesday at 11 AM and landed at LAX at 7 AM on Wednesday. So we got to live Wednesday twice, one of which was on the plane. Tom and I had been dreading the flight back, because it left right in the middle of the day, and we knew there was no way LB was just going to pop in the bassinet and sleep for 13 hours. But actually the flight was good--it seemed to go by quickly, probably because we tried to schedule our first Wednesday like any other day--LB had lunch, played (Tom's dad, who used to work for Qantas, worked it out so that we got a whole four-seater row to ourselves; plenty of room for LB to play, walking back and forth between the seats), read books, watched cartoons, had dinner, and then, with about five hours of flight time left, put baby to bed, though she mostly slept across Mama.
Our second Wednesday was much rougher. We slept from about 11 AM until 2 PM, which is when Tom and I had to get up to go sign a contract for our new place (yes, we are moving!) That night, we didn't all settle down until around 3:30 AM and slept until 10:30 AM. The photo above is of LB and me at about 1 AM. The joys of jet lag. I'm feeling a bit fuzzy at the moment and seem to be having trouble typing this (keep hitting the wrong keys). I'll definitely be glad when we're back in the swing of things and on schedule.
