Day 140: Swim Class

This morning, LB went to swim class. Here we are in our suits, getting ready to go. The young lady's suit was a present from her Auntie Jung (see May 11th), and I think she looked freaking adorable in it!

I've been wanting to take her to swim class for awhile, especially since I'm such a poor swimmer, and also because we'll be spending so many holidays in Australia, where they seem quite big on swimming. Unfortunately, I've had to wait until the summer because there are no indoor pools around us offering infant classes. LB's class is at Riverside City College, which is about 10 minutes from us. There's a shallow, heated pool just right for the wee ones. The class sessions go for two weeks, Mon-Thurs. I'm taking her to a June session, and then Tom will take her for another session in July.

She seemed to like class well enough. Her favorite activities were holding onto the wall and kicking her feet (or actually, I moved her feet so they kicked) and sitting on the edge and jumping in (i.e., I picked her up and brought her into the water with a big splash). She liked the latter activity so much that by the third jump, she was leaning over, in anticipation of the big splash!
