2nd Rounds

Here I am at the Bay Valley Resort in Bay City, Michigan. This is the view out my window: an empty parking lot and lots of snow. Delta College is definitely in a rural area.
Another interview . . . another lonely hotel room . . .
I hope I get a job soon. All this travel away from Tom and LB is not for me!
And I definitely won't be seeing much of them this week. I get back from Michigan on Tuesday at 10 PM, and on Wednesday morning . . . I'm off to Phoenix for a 2nd-round interview at Mesa Community College! I'm excited to have made it into the second round but just feel exhausted by the thought of all the flights and by doing two interviews this week. I only found out about the MCC interview on Friday afternoon, right before I went to teach. I haven't even purchased my ticket to Phoenix yet. I'm going to call the Human Resources Office in the morning. Oh, I hope I get a job out of all of this!

And, on Friday, I also found out that I have a 1st-round interview at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA! I had a very lucky April Fool's Day--two interviews in one day! San Marcos is just north of San Diego. Considering that about 300 other people may have applied to this job (competition is fierce in CA--everybody wants to move there!), I feel very validated that I somehow managed to be in the top 12 or so. All my hard work may actually pay off. The interview is on April 14th. Oh, I really hope I get a job.
