Last night I was getting spruced up in our bedroom for date night with my honey. LB came toddling in, had a peek about, and quickly spotted my pen case, which I had hidden in my make-up box from her. Going through my pen case is one of life's great pleasures for LB, right behind digging around in the fridge and picking out a snack (usually it's ketchup.) I try to keep the case hidden from her, but sometimes I fail. As soon as she saw the case last night, she got very excited, eagerly pointed at it, and said "Please, please!" I said "No" and ignored her as I continued getting dressed. She toddled into the living room, talked G into following her back into the bedroom, and proceeded to point at the pen case and ask "Please." Oh the clever little thing. I told her she could look at the case if she sat on the couch with G. And that's how she ended up using my best grading pen to draw what I can only guess were pictures of pups in the snow. I guess if Mama says "No," G is the way to go.
But thanks so much to my mom for staying an extra night so that Tom and I could go out. We know we are very lucky to have her nearby. Tom and I went out for Vietnamese. Tom seems to be on a Vietnamese kick lately. That's fine with me; I can always eat a hot bowl of pho and drink an avocado smoothie. Actually, an avocado smoothie sounds so good right about now. After dinner, we saw The King's Speech, which was a fabulous movie and Colin Firth, who is one of my favorite actors, was excellent. Maybe he'll win the Oscar this year. I thought he should have won last year for A Single Man, which is another great movie but with a less triumphant ending than The King's Speech. Tom also enjoyed The King's Speech, though he got a bit riled up by the anti-Aussie sentiment expressed by early twentieth century British society. Rrrrrr . . . those posh British wankers!
Oh! And today's photo is of the beautiful breaky G made LB this morning.
