We had a wonderful little family Sunday. We started off the day with brunch at Chestnut Cottage--our new favorite breakfast place where we promise to take any visitors!
To get the photo above, Tom had to trick LB into looking up for the camera with a "Hey! What's that!? Up there!?" Hence the surprised/curious look on her face.
And below, check out the beautiful coffees! Yum! Come and have one with us!
After brunch, it was time for some Xmas-tree shopping.
These next two pictures do not do our tree justice. It is huge! We had to move furniture around to make room for it. Tom had to cut part of it off to get it through the front door! We did not expect it to be so big. When we bought it, it was roped up and only cost $20. When you buy a $20, roped-up tree in Southern California, you get a scrawny little thing with a few sad branches to string your lights around. But in Washington, when you buy a $20, roped-up tree, you get a tree! They do not joke around about trees in Washington. When Tom cut the ropes off it, it just kept puffing out. It was a little wet when we first brought it into the house, and I think that as it starts to dry off, it may actually still be getting bigger.
Our two strings of lights barely make a sparkle on it:
