This weekend was the 16th annual Sequim Lavender Festival. Lavender grows well in the local climate, and there are several lavender farms nearby. We even have some growing in our yard (though we can't take credit for it as it was already there when we arrived). Lilybeth and I decided to check out the local shindig, which featured lots of booths, a music stage (shown above), and sugary, fried treats (shown below). Here, LB is enjoying a peach dumpling with ice cream and cinnamon:
Fortunately, she burned off the sugar running around the park:
On Sunday, we also introduced LB to her new chore chart. Every time she completes a chore, she receives one sticker for her chart. As you can see, she's earned three since yesterday: one for helping Papa with the laundry by putting clothes in the dresser, one for cleaning up the toys in the living room, and one for helping Mama water the garden plants. She already has a list of things she wants to buy, so hopefully she'll also learn some lessons about saving!
