Trick-or-Treat!

This year, LB got to enjoy her first trick-or-treating. While she was a bit apprehensive when we first headed out . . .
and she took a not-so-fun tumble into a pile of leaves while I was trying to take a picture . . .
she quickly caught on that by knocking on people's doors, saying "trick-or-treat," and holding out her bag, she would get a piece of candy. There were also a ton of kids out, and she loved running behind them, dragging her treat bag, and just joining in the festivities.
We stayed out from about 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and when we got home, she helped pass out candy at our house. As she loaded up the neighborhood kids' bags, she told each one, "Here's your trick-or-treat. Thank you!" It was very sweet.

And here are a couple more shots . . .

She claimed that she was just "checking" on the candy. Hmmm . . . looks very suspicious.

But I'm very happy to report that she did not eat all of her trick-or-treat candy tonight. She had one mini-chocolate bar and a little bag of cheese crackers (thanks to whomever handed out those!) Yet, despite not loading up on sweets, she was still too excited to go to bed, and I heard her in her room saying "Happy Halloween!" to all of her stuffed friends after Tom and I tucked her in for the night.
