It was a long drive up and the four of us squeezed into the Corolla, as Tom and I will be leaving the car at my gramme's house in southern Washington so that when we move up to PA for good, we'll only have to worry about driving up a packed moving van and the Rav4. And after the drive up this weekend, I can say we are not looking forward to making the trip with a wiggly and energetic LB strapped into her car seat for the roughly 20-hour journey.
But Heidi and Sam were good company and we didn't hear any complaints from them. We left Riverside at about 2 PM on Thursday afternoon and drove for nine hours (including gas and bathroom breaks and a stop for dinner) to make it to a friend's house in Santa Rosa, CA where we were spending the night. We left her house on Friday morning at about 9 AM (after a great home-cooked breaky) and drove ALL day to reach Grandma's house in Rochester, WA by 11 PM that night. Heidi and Sam were staying the weekend at Gramme's and so on Saturday morning, Tom and I drove the final three hours from Rochester to Port Angeles by ourselves.
Here are the photos from the trip!

Please don't make us get back in the car!
When Tom and I got to Port Angeles, we had lunch with my fabulous new co-workers and then the English department's chair took us on a tour of Peninsula College, where I got to check out my new office. This is the view from the chair's office, but mine will be similar.
My office! Yippee!!

More of beautiful Peninsula.

Near Peninsula College is the Port Angeles Fine Arts Gallery, so Tom and I had a poke around.

The Gallery also has a great sculpture garden / art trail that winds its way through the woods. Any visitors to Port Angeles will definitely be taken here!

Oh it looks lovely!!! Can't wait to visit you there!
