Washing & Revising

On Wednesday, Lilybeth discovered what may be her new favorite activity. I was in the kitchen preparing lunch and washing dishes when she toddled in from her bedroom to see what Mama was up to. "Washing dishes," I said. This was apparently a very exciting answer because she rushed back to her room to retrieve a few of her little toy dishes and came back announcing she had some "dirty dishes." I pushed a chair up to the sink, and she spent the next 20 minutes happily scrubbing away.
Eventually, I said it was time to eat lunch and take a nap, to which she replied, "No nap! More wash dishes!" Oh, LB. If you could take over the dish washing and I could take over the napping, I would gladly switch "chores" with you.

But Miss Lilybeth is having a weekend at G and Grandpa's house, where the rules about taking naps, eating bowls of ice cream,
and having leisurely visits to the toy store are much more lenient.
And yesterday, I had some happy news: my advisor said she'd sign off on my dissertation! She gave me some suggestions for revisions but said even if I told her that I didn't want to add another word to the thing, she's still sign off on it! Her comments for revision were so insightful, however, that I felt motivated to work on it, so it looks like I'm back at the dissertation mill, at least for another week.

These final photos are from G. She and LB discovered a little friend in the garden:
