Miss LB had a visit to her doctor's office this afternoon, and unfortunately, the visit included a flu shot. After she got her shot, LB didn't cry, but instead made a very sad, sad pouty face. She truly felt betrayed. First, she looked up at Mama with her sorrowful eyes and quivering lips. Then, she looked up at Nurse Bea (who had just administered the shot) with the same face. Next, back at Mama. Back at Nurse Bea. She continued to look back and forth between us with the same mournful face that seemed to say, "What did I do? I try so hard to be a good girl and help Mama and Papa. Why did you do this to me?" I thought my heart was going to break, and Nurse Bea rushed out of the room saying she couldn't take it anymore and that the pouty face was worse than actual crying.
Fortunately, I had a juice box in my purse. Getting a juice box (as opposed to a sippy cup of juice) was unbelievably exciting, and LB quickly forgot about the shot. That was until we walked back by the nurses' station where Nurse Bea was recounting the horror of The Pout to the other nurses. As she was toddling by, LB paused, dropped the lip, and just looked overall miserable. And that was how she managed to get not one, not two, but three(!!) stickers after her doctor's visit.

And her afternoon just seemed to get better and better, especially when I pulled out the raisins during dinner. Raisins are her current favorite snack. Have you ever seen anyone so thrilled by raisins?

Using a fork is a great way to eat raisins. Another good way to eat raisins is to put them in a measuring cup,

and drink them down.
