Put Some Spring in That Step!

Lilybeth and I made our way to Rochester, WA, this weekend for a long awaited visit with GG. As you can tell, the young lass is always happy to find herself at her great-grandmother's house.

She loves running up and down this ramp off the back porch.

Doing a silly pose for Mama:
And off on another adventure:
Uncle Frank loves to find and sell antiques, and here are a couple of treasures in his yard:
We spent Saturday afternoon out-and-about with GG, and here we are enjoying lunch at the Berry Fields Cafe (one of Uncle John's favorite Centralia eateries):
And finally, GG had her own little treasure that she wanted to share, this postcard that her nephew Stevie (who also finds and sells antiques) acquired. It's an advertisement for an old movie, and the actor who's standing is named Gilbert Roland and looks exactly like my grandpa:
As you can see, the film was released in 1956. I remember hearing that Grandpa looked a lot like Roland, and I do have a cousin named Roland. I wonder if this is how the name originated.
As GG said, if Roland didn't have his shirt knotted, this picture could be of Grandpa (knotted shirts were not Grandpa's style).
GG displaying the postcard with pride:
We sure miss Grandpa around here. I wish that LB could have met him. He would have loved her, and she would have loved him!
