Pillar Point and Clallam Bay

Uncle Tony returns to Australia on Wednesday and in an attempt to get a last bit of sightseeing in before his departure, we headed up SR 112 (also known as the Strait of Juan de Fuca Highway). It's a gorgeous, twisty drive along the ocean, with plenty of places to stop for a bit of beach fun, including Pillar Point.

It was a foggy day, but Pillar Point was still completely beautiful. I really do love living in this little corner of the world.

We then drove a bit further north and stopped at a beach in Clallam Bay. We had to walk along a little path through the grass to get to the sand and water.
As soon as LB saw sand, the shoes came off. We didn't even ask her to take them off; she did it instantly as if she couldn't wait to get the sand between her toes.

I have a feeling that LB's natural element is the beach. As soon as she was shoeless, she ran frenetically around the beach and then started to dig in the sand. It was definitely a living-in-the-moment moment for our LB!

"Hi, Ocean!"
Amused, Papa watched on.
