This weekend, we had a mini-family reunion in Rochester, WA. My Gramme Mary recently became reacquainted with her nephew Stevie (black shirt above) and niece Sparkie/Merna (blonde hair and white blouse above). Stevie and Sparkie are my mom's cousins, which makes them my second cousins.
It had been over 50 years since Gramme had seen Stevie and Sparky. The last time she saw them, they were little kids, and so she was a bit surprised when two adults in their 60s showed up for a visit! The reunion was all thanks to my Auntie Dawn (my dad's sister) who found Stevie and Sparkie online. It turns out that the pair lived in Seattle, not far from Gramme's house. Gramme was very happy to see them again!
Here are a few more pictures from the day. Joe, Michael, John:

This little blond-haired boy is Jimmy, Sparkie's grandson. Lilybeth claimed that he was her "boyfriend." Are they third or fourth cousins? I can't quite wrap my head around it! But they did have fun racing and playing with pine cones.

On Sunday, I returned to Port Angeles, where Uncle Tony, Tom, LB, and I went for an evening walk along the Olympic Discovery Trail. The Trail runs approximately 130 miles, traversing the Olympic Peninsula from Port Townsend to the Pacific Ocean. In Port Angeles, it runs along the waterfront, and I try to run a couple of miles along it 3 - 4 times a week. It's such a beautiful jog or walk.
Massive tankers are such common sights along the waterfront!
