Song and Dance

Today, at the Port Angeles Public Library, Miss LB was treated to a very special show: Caspar Babypants played some songs for the little ones. Lilybeth loved it and got her groove thing on to songs like "Bad Blue Jay," "My Flea Has Dogs," "Butterfly Driving a Truck," as well as some classics like "Eensy-Weensy Spider" and "Three Blind Mice."

She looks very sweet here in her hand-me-down raincoat and top from cousin Sophie.

Caspar Babypants is the stage name of Chris Ballew, who used to be a member of the band The Presidents of the United States of America. I remember liking them all the way back in high school, when they had some big hits like "Lump," "Kitty," and "Peaches."

Obviously Chris/Caspar is playing for a different crowd these days, and he arrived at the library with his wife, Kate, who is an artist. She made the pictures for the book above, as well as for his album covers. Caspar said he was inspired to write his new songs when he looked at one of her pictures and thought, "I'd like to sing a song for that picture."

A package also arrived today for LB from Grandma and Grandpa Lovejoy and included in it were cat posters!
Woohoo!
