What better way to avoid working on my dissertation than by updating the blog? LB is napping, and I already spent the first part of her snooze mopping and cleaning. It's too hot and too summery to think about working . . . Unfortunately, my complete draft is due in 8 days, so I'll have to get into it this afternoon. But until then . . . a few recent photos of my baby.
In these first couple of photos, she's playing with her b-day present from Auntie Heidi and Uncle Sam: some stuffed fruit in a basket. Very cool gift, thanks guys!

She also received some new clothes from Auntie & Uncle. This polka-dotted, purple thing is a skirt . . .
but LB decided it would make a better hat.
And finally, sharing her stuffed fruit with her toys.
Last week, she also attended her little friend Sakura's 4th b-day bash. She wore her new shirt from Heidi and Sam. She selected it herself! So cute! And the purple skirt she's wearing here is not the one that Heidi and Sam sent, but it's one that looks exactly the same that I recently bought her! Great minds think alike, I guess!
Here she is taking her turn at the pinata. I accidentally switched the camera over to black-and-white. I wish I hadn't because there were lots of vibrant colors with the grass and the pinata and all the kiddies' party clothes.

After the party, her friend Brendan came by and here is a happy girl playing with her friend!
Then, sometime last week, Tom and I were in the kitchen making dinner, and LB was in her room playing quietly. Tom went in to check on her, and what had she been so innocently and silently doing? Making this gargantuan mess!
The pleased and naked little culprit.
And one last photo. Earlier this week, LB decided that she did not want to have her usual nap at noon. So, look what happened at around 2:30 . . .
Tom carried her into bed, and she slept until about 5. Needless to say, she was a groggy, grumpy monkey when she woke up.
