In the photo above, Miss LB is proudly displaying the third place ribbon she won for participating in the Sequim Irrigation Festival's Children's Parade.
LB had a great time in the parade. She walked the entire time with Queen Angela, of the Festival's royal Court. Angela was a gem. Lilybeth saw her while the parade participants were lining up, and she went up to Angela to see if she could walk by her. Angela said she could hold her hand while they walked.
Angela showed Lilybeth how to do the royal wave, and the pair of them were beyond adorable walking the route.
Lilybeth apparently has a new hero because she talked about "Princess Angela in her black dress" for the rest of the day and told everyone she met about it.
A newspaper reporter from the Sequim Gazette snapped a picture of the two, and he said it may be in the Wednesday edition of the paper. We'll have to get copies!
After the parade, we enjoyed a smoothie . . .
and then it was carnival time!
Lilybeth enjoyed this favorite from last year, and the same grisly old man was back again this year manning the whale ride: Sequim Irrigation Festival, 2012
She won this!
And here are a couple of bonus photos.
Here's Lilybeth writing her Mama's Day Cards:
Garfield helped!
Lilybeth wanted to show this red pepper with the long stem to G. I told her that I would take a picture of it, but then she got mad. I think she really wanted G to come and see the pepper for herself.
