But first a little catch-up from the week.
On Thursday night, when I got home from work, I asked LB if she had had a good day at school (she attends preschool on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.) She looked at me and smiled sheepishly and said in a quiet little voice, "I get time out." "Oh, why did you get a time-out?" She then started to rub her eye and said, "My eye so itchy, Mama." Nice way to change the subject!
But Papa gave me the whole story. Apparently when it was time for LB to go home because Papa had come to retrieve her, she didn't want to leave and refused to gather up her lunchbox and coat. In fact she hid her hands behind her back, said she had "no hands," and so couldn't get her things. This earned her one time out. But when she finished up with that first one she did the exact same thing again and got the exact same result: another time out.
And even after this second time out, she still hadn't learned her lesson. However, this third time, instead of another time out, her teacher said that since she wasn't making good choices she wouldn't get to play with the baby dolls on her next visit to school. Oh, dear! Miss LB loves playing with the baby dolls at school. I think when she shows up for school on Tuesday, she'll be in for a bit of a surprise. But hopefully she'll learn her lesson!
On Friday evening, I went to a poetry reading and got back after my possum was all settled down in bed. I went in to peek on her and this was the scene that I encountered: a tucked in rocking horse
