Sunday, Monday

Ann and Ted returned to Australia on Saturday, and we have definitely been missing them. We tried to cheer ourselves up on Sunday with a special family breakfast of banana & chocolate chip pancakes and strawberry & chocolate chip pancakes. We also had raspberries as Miss LB is so happily displaying.

LB also took the opportunity to practice using her little knife:
Watch those fingers! Fortunately, it's not very sharp.

Afterwards, we drove to Salt Creek, a little recreation area along the water about 20-minutes west of here. Some co-workers told me it is a great place to take kids, and it certainly looks like it must be, but by the time we arrived, the rain was pouring down.
Waiting under a tree for the rain to stop:
Waiting in the car:
Deer don't mind the rain:

Eventually, we gave up and drove back to Port Angeles to the little marine-life center on the pier. It's only $1 a person to get in, and LB had a good play in the sandbox.

And enjoyed the touch pools.
And with classes starting today, I am definitely the working girl. Tom is enjoying his new role as stay-at-home dad. Baby and he spent the day indoors since it rained, rained, rained, and when I returned we enjoyed a quick dinner inspired by the latest issue of Real Simple: quesadillas rancheros.
Yum!

  5. Thanks for the comment, Hope! I don't think my family would let me give up the blog, especially as we're so far away from my parents now!

We've been enjoying it here in PA and are happily welcoming visitors ;)
