Day Four: Good Eats

The sun was out today in Riverside, and, because of the recent wind and rain, the skies were not that depressing brown color that only smog can cause. It was actually a gorgeous day, and LB and I were very happy to get out of the house. After nearly a week of no-naps, I was especially glad to get out. We went to Jammin Bread, one of our favorite little sandwich shops in Rside, and met up with Auntie Crystal and Jake, two of our favorite people in the world. Jake is one beautiful baby. He's got the most enormous brown eyes. He's going to be quite the little heart breaker one day. It looks like LB is ignoring him in this picture, but really she was happy to see him.

For lunch, I had the tomato pesto quiche, and LB ate some of Mama's homemade food--pureed broccoli, zucchini, and potatoes. And for dessert she had one of her favorites: a puree of apricots and apples.

Like me, Crystal is also working on her dissertation, has a little one, and has a spouse/partner who works full time. It's nice to know that there's such a remarkable woman riding along in the same boat as me. As you can guess, we had plenty to commiserate about. Though of course we had plenty of joy to share regarding our little ones. I think at one point, we were both going "Nom nom nom!" trying to eat the babies' hands (and they have such sweet little hands). Well, we can't be expected to talk theory all the time.

I better go. It's make-your-own pizza night here at the Lovejoy-Fordhams.
