Before we began our California adventure, Lilybeth was promised a trip to Disneyland, and on Tuesday, the day she'd been looking forward to finally arrived. This was Lilybeth's third trip to Disneyland. She went way back in May of 2011 and again in December of 2011 when we visited SoCal at Christmas. But I think that now that she's four, this trip was particularly special!
Our Disney Day began in the parking garage. Here we are looking fresh and energized:
But soon we got down to the business of the day: waiting in lines for rides.
The first stop was a visit with some princesses. Here's LB having a serious conversation with Aurora:
She was less impressed with Ariel. When she first saw her, Lilybeth mistook Ariel for Merida. She was not impressed when it turned out not to be Merida.
Having a serious conversation with Cinderella:
After that, we had another long wait to meet yet another princess, but this time, it was Merida herself!
Lilybeth was ready with her bow and arrows to meet the red-headed lass.
"I love you, Merida!"
Next up was the archery lesson.
Look at those concentrated faces:
It was time release the arrow . . .
. . . which unfortunately just clattered to the ground.
Oh, well! Lilybeth still had an awesome time meeting Merida. In fact, the next morning I asked, "Lilybeth, what do you want for breakfast?" And she replied, "I'm not Lilybeth; I'm Merida, and I want toast."
After we met with the Disney superstars, it was time for some rides. First up was Lilybeth's favorite, It's a Small World, followed by the teacups, which I don't think she enjoyed as much.
The teacups were followed by lunch and nap time . . .
. . . which was followed by Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan, another go on It's a Small World, and a parade!
She was very excited to show the real Pluto her stuffed Pluto.
After the parade, we went on Alice in Wonderland and the Finding Nemo submarine ride. It was well into the night by then, so we watched the 9:30 fireworks show and decided to call it day.
Here's a happy pair:
