Here, There, & Everywhere

I hope John doesn't mind the goofy picture of himself. We were trying to get LB to pose in a photo with him, but she refused. His expression wasn't helping.

Eventually she agreed to a post-Thanksgiving photo opt with Mama in the picture:
But in all seriousness, LB loves her Uncle John. She knows which pressie under our tree belongs to him!

On tonight's blog, there's just a hodgepodge of photos from the last week, starting with LB opening the first window of her advent calendar:
Tom made us another warm winter soup, this time potato and leek:
While we were visiting Gramme's over Thanksgiving break, she made me this beautiful curtain for my office. There's a long, thin window next to the door, and I wanted something for it. It looks fab and it has gotten lots of compliments from the other profs!
The usual breathtaking view from my office:
LB modeling the beautiful red coat from Auntie Em:
She said, "I make big smile my grandpa" (i.e., I'm making a big smile for my grandpa).

This evening we also set up our wonky, wee Xmas tree. I usually like to get a big tree, but this year we'll be spending Xmas down in SoCal, so there is really no need for us to get any tree. However, it's too sad to think of having nothing in the house during the holiday season, thus the wee, wonky tree that does let off a bit of pine scent:
LB was showing the tree to her dolly Robin.
Writing an Xmas card to her cousin Sophie. The pressie on the table is actually LB's. The young lady said, "I love it," and hence kept it nearby on the table.
And, finally, check out who's helping to advertise the Winter '12 classes at Peninsula College:
