Now that LB is a full-time, 5-days-a-week sort of student, she can really enjoy the value the weekend. This Saturday, we took full advantage of a day off and some late summer/early fall sunshine and attended a local music festival, Jungible.
Tickets were $25 apiece, and I thought that was a bit steep, especially as I'm not a bluegrass fan, but I'm glad I forked over the money. First, attending the festival reminded me of why I love living in a small town: The festival was not crowded, and--as always happens on the Olympic Peninsula--I ran into people I know. We do have a wonderful sense of community here in Pt. Angeles and Sequim.
Second, the sun was out and the festival was held at a lavender farm. The perfect place to enjoy a day outdoors!
Third, LB had a wonderful time in the kids' zone, which was centered around a ribbon-bedecked gazebo.
There was plenty of extra ribbon to be unfurled.
The ribbon queen!
She designed herself a dress.
The kids' zone also featured a quiet zone, which LB did not visit, and . . .
a maze.
Set up as well was a little stage with instruments so that the kids could put on their own concert. Very creative!
Also very creative was the "Color A Maraca" station.
And no festival would be complete without a face-painting booth, or . . .
ice cream. LB enjoyed a "Sea God's Caramel."
And we also enjoyed this grilled mac-and-cheese sandwich. It took four people to eat it: me, LB, and two of our friends.
