On June 6th, Miss LB turned "The Big 5," as she says. She started off her special day with a doughnut breakfast and some pressies from Mama, Papa, G, Grandpa, and GG.
On Saturday, she also received a very special present from my co-worker, Janet. Here she is waiting for the surprise to arrive.
What is it?! It's her very own cat, Jade! Yep! Miss LB is finally getting a cat! Jade will start living with the Lovejoy-Fordham Alliance later this summer.
Lilybeth is very excited to become a Cat Mama. She has big plans for Jade, such as teaching her how to play ball and finding her a hiding spot in our house so that when visitors come over, she doesn't get scared. LB said that she would sit in the spot with Jade to keep her company. She is convinced that Jade will sleep on her bed. She also said that now when people ask her if she has a cat she can say, "Yes, I have a cat. Its name is Jade and it is black with green eyes and a short tail. I am its Cat Mama."
This evening, LB's BFF Immy gave LB some great tips for caring for Jade. The tips went something like this, "The first tip for taking care of a cat is not to lie on top of it. Second, don't try to pull it out from under the bed. Third, don't put it into the toy chest. It will get out. I learned all of this in the worst way possible." Haha!
Tomorrow, LB will be celebrating her birthday with friends at a beach picnic. Here's the cake she picked this year.
These last two pictures are from Immy's birthday party, which was a couple weeks ago. Here, LB helps herself to a slice of fairy bread made by Papa for the occasion.
The party featured feet painting (or face and hand painting). LB got artistic on her feet, and here she is showing them off next to her artist friend's shoe.
