We had a quiet weekend here on the Olympic Peninsula. We've been enjoying some sunny but crisp fall days and have been loving all that comes with the changing season, such as Halloween and carving pumpkins.
Lilybeth painted one of the pumpkins and wanted a cat on the other jack-o-lantern. I did the best I could using a pattern!
My little rabbit! She's holding a gnawed carrot in her hand!
On Saturday, LB and I did our weekly run to the farmers' market, where I was inspired by all of the fall veggies: potatoes, corn, celery, carrots, and parsnips. I bought some up, and we made a shepherd's pie for dinner on Sunday. Along with all of our veggies, the pie also includes lentils, onions, and some parsley (picked from our garden).
It was so yummy! Even LB had a slice and announced, "We have the best food in town!" I think we do!
This next photo is of Dorothy Allison, who visited Port Townsend last weekend. I couldn't miss seeing her! She gave a spectacular reading from her new novel She Who. She's been working on the book for over a decade now, and there are many anxious fans (including yours truly) awaiting its publication.
